Perth, W.A.

What a surprise Perth was to all of us, If you had to live in a city this is the one everyone would love.
The rest of the country, especially N.S.W. Needs to take notice. It is truly beautiful.
It is very clean, no graffiti is seen anywhere
The parks are spotless, not a blade of grass out of place. And there are so many of them,Full of the most beautiful trees. It is so family orientated. As you go around the city the water ways have all got walkways there isn`t one area that you can`t walk or ride a bike.
The trains and stations are  immaculate, even carpet in the trains. The trains run down the middle of the Highway, and the stations are also there. They are so nice.
It is a very easy city to get around.
There has to be at least 30 shopping centres all absolutely chokers at all times, it is incredible.
Marinas on the Swan river there are five in this area alone. Perth is renowned for being the boating capital of Australia Millions of Dollars worth of  Luxury Boats.
 One of the Marinas that we really loved was at Sorento called Hillary`s. Just beautiful. { Try and get it on the net just to have a look}
It is so affordable and for all the family. So many people take advantage of this area, no matter what age group, It is always busy. Restaurants in this area, Cater for all, including diets of all types. There is expensive to non expensive. What ever suits the budget. Yoghurt Parlours, ice cream parlours, Juice, Coffee, etc. To Classy Restaurants. Sooo Nice..

We have done a tour down the Swan River  to Freemantle, Walked around the city, went to the Shipwreck Museum, Had lunch at Fishing Boat Harbour.
Then another day we drove down to Freemantle, then we did a cruise to Rottnest Island, That was nice. Although we were a little disappointed, I think our expectations are becoming a little high, after what we have seen. The weather was very hot 40deg. So that didn`t help. The beaches were incredible. And we did get to have a swim, [if only for a half an hour]. We all went home exhausted.

Then I had a nice night at a friend of a friends Unit in Perth City on Australia day were they had a Fireworks display. That was nice.

Then the next day we went to Kings Park, gorgeous park, but the weather was so hot we couldn`t stay to long. We ended up pushing kids out of the water spray park just to get wet. I went up to the kids and asked if I could play. They thought that was cute. We had a picnic lunch in some Shade at one of the areas with tables etc. It was a shame the weather has been over 40deg every day for the last 8 days. A heat wave for Perth.
That night we all went with David and Karen  to Hillary`s and had gourmet Pizza, very nice. Sat outside overlooking the water. It was great, Great company fantastic food. 10 out of 10..
Our air conditioner has been working overtime. So at this stage you  defiantly need to be in a caravan park.
That also had its problems there was so many air cons going at one time the electricity was going off and on.  So people were worried about fridges and freezers.  We all got through... It could have been worse, we could have been out in the country free camping....  With no electricity...
Today is Rene`e`s Birthday and also Annes. Hope they enjoy their day.
We are getting ready to leave Perth tomorrow to head south toward Bunbury.
We are looking at trying some free camping again, The weather has dropped down a little, so we will see what happens, we may have to go to another caravan park, but that is o.k. Wewill take it as it comes.
So we will talk to you all soon.

  1. Hi Di, I tried to email you below whilst we were away but it bounced back. Then at Broken Hill I had my purse stolen (don’t stay at Lake View Caravan Park whatever you do!!) so I lost the little card you gave me with your email address. We're still following your blog, sounds like your still having a great time. The seals sound fabulous. Dave and I dived with them off Narooma many years ago before we had the kids and how you wrote it is exactly as I remember it. We are back home now and struggling to settle back into life at home and routines etc.

    Keep in touch
    Kerryn, Dave and the kids
